Marshall Parkinson Wins FR Trophy Monday, June 23rd, 2036: Marshall Parkinson is respected by most Reading Railbirds fans for his no-frills style of play. He compiled a .375 average (12-32) with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 5 runs scored. In 31 games this season Parkinson is batting .319 with 38 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 22 runs and driven in 15.
Phillips Batters Washington for 5 Hits Saturday, June 21st, 2036: Today the Voyageurs downed the Monuments 8-7 as Rich Phillips sprayed hits all over Hot Box in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The West Island center fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Rich Phillips singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th and singled in the 7th. Thus far this year Phillips has hit .338 with no home runs and 12 RBIs.
Viceronte Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times Friday, June 20th, 2036: Three home runs in a game doesn't happen often. When it does it is something special to celebrate. And Aurelien Viceronte of Cape Canaveral can celebrate it. He is now a member of the select group of players, who have hit three home runs in a single game. He powered three into the stands today at Trump Stadium against the Atlantic City Aces. In all he was 3-4 as the Launch toppled Atlantic City 12-8, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 4 times. Viceronte told reporters after the game, "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run. Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today I tried on the last one." His manager added, "He is blessed with a natural home run swing. He gets the ball up in the air."
Frontier Picks Top Player Monday, May 5th, 2036: Roberto De Vargas demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the Frontier Player of the Week Award. This year De Vargas is batting .333 with 28 hits, 8 home runs, 22 RBIs, 16 walks, .446 OBP and has scored 16 runs.
